Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter, Sheryl Crow, will surely be pleased to know that an acoustic guitar signed by her will raise money in support of the search for a cure for breast cancer and to raise awareness and support preventive action. Crow was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 44 after a routine mammogram. Crow’s story is a success story for the importance of preventive screenings.
The black Epiphone acoustic guitar signed by Crow will be auctioned off at the Tenth (and final) Rose’s Legacy Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, June 15, 2015 at Wethersfield Country Club. All proceeds from the guitar directly benefit Komen Connecticut.
Rose’s Legacy Memorial Golf Tournament is a special event to honor and keep alive the spirit of Rose Tomaino, one of Employee Family Protection’s first employees, while raising money for breast cancer research. Rose passed away in October 2005 after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Among Rose’s many interests was the game of golf. In celebration of Rose’s passion for golf, as well as her dedication, tremendous courage, and commitment to EFP, the company established this memorial golf tournament dedicated to her memory and to raising funds for breast cancer research.
In the first nine years of the tournament, Rose’s Legacy raised more than $440,000 to benefit the fight against breast cancer. The goal for this tenth and final tournament is to raise $100,000; bringing the ten year total to more than $540,000. We hope you will help us reach this milestone in 2015.
